I love to show up every day for my job, which is standing around holding the front of my tactical vest and getting told to choke to death by thousands of passers-by while 11 of my coworkers handcuff a roofer on his way to work. Every night I drive 80 minutes home, thinking about nothing at all.

They’re escalating routine traffic stops to arrests because they don’t actually have shit to do.

The third night of the occupation there was an additional 850 federal officers alongside our 3200 MPD officers. There were… 23 total arrests that night.

MPD and the feds really struggling to make up the numbers... They don't want to look completely useless (they are) so they're going to keep up checkpoints and other petty bullshit to justify their violent existence. Think of the housing these wages alone could supply! There is no goal but terror!!

Word on the grounds says it seems like the federal agents are basically running security for MPD to do the dirty work. They're all very much the same, especially now that MPD is under federal control 😮‍💨

ALERT DC Police (MPD) has announced that they will start collaborating with ICE at traffic checkpoints Aug 14 onwards What does this mean? - MPD has started to set up traffic checkpoints with federal agencies (like ICE) to stop people - During the traffic stop they can ask about a person’s immigration status - MPD can also share immigration status information of a person stopped at a checkpoint with ICE so that ICE can come and detain them - Warning: ICE may be present at MPD precincts in an attempt to take custody of a person after release Important to understand: - The Trump administration does not care about the law.
