Today's readings about caring for the poor and marginalized and welcoming the stranger prompted me to offer my daily classroom prayer for the persecuted immigrants in my own - checking notes - "Christian" country.

What do authentic #Christians believe? Love our neighbors or deport them? Peace or violence?

When we believe what we want versus the truth, we deceive ourselves.

We can't change our minds unless we let Jesus change our hearts.

Seeking truth is hard for those who don't want it.

It troubles me that Catholic voters still overwhelmingly serve a power-hungry earthly leader who's cut funding for public health, housing, and education. Their dedication to opposing abortion has blinded them to myriad other prolife issues. They've become unwitting pawns. Love others and seek truth
