Course: Supporting people with MND using acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), starting on 29/09/2025 This 9-week course introduces ACT as a proven and practical intervention to support people with MND. Designed for psychologists, it provides a deep dive into the ACT model, with a focus on its application to the unique challenges faced by people with MND. You may expect to dedicate up to 3 hours per week to the course. The course is divided into weekly modules, combining self-paced learning, interactive live sessions and practical application: week 1: introduction to MND and ACT week 2: acceptance, defusion and self as context week 3: contact with the present moment, values and committed action week 4: live role-play and discussion week 5: consistent responding and care conceptualisation, suicide and end of life week 6: indicators of psychological inflexibility week 7: live role-play week 8: adapting ACT for MND and troubleshooting week 9: live Q&A
