Maybe I’m stupid. Idk. I just don’t feel like this is for me. I mean insurance and taxes and escrow go up and I’d just feel too guilty about raising the prices because of that and it’s like if you don’t own a home you shouldn’t have to worry about those things but your landlord makes it your issue

And it’s like ok I get it could “help pay the mortgage” but why should someone else help me pay my mortgage? And it’s silly to expect they’ll stay there or I’ll always have someone there to help me pay it off. Why make that someone else’s responsibility too?

I know people are like “oh it’s trendy to hate landlords. Being a landlord isn’t so bad” like it just feels silly to make “an investment” and hope someone else pays for it and happily takes care of it as if they get any equity in return despite not getting equity in return.

As I look for my next house, a lot of people have floated ideas about me renting out my current one or buying a home with extra space. Either way suggestion of being a landlord. I just can’t.

freer because of us
—july 4th, with memory in my mouth—

i don’t light fireworks
i light candles
for crispus & kin—
Black breath blown
into battles
they weren’t meant to win.

they called it revolution
but asked us to wait
told us freedom was coming
just show up late.
but we were there—
boots muddy

Texting my niece is like what I imagine getting a text from the popular cool girl who was your friend in kindergarten in a high school movie is like. I’m just like ok play it cool play it cool don’t be too desperate and maybe she’ll be your friend again.

An illustration of a young girl in silhouette with a ponytail, standing against a fiery orange and red background. Over her figure is a handwritten quote in white text that reads: “The wicked become even worse when they are tolerated.” – Tolstoy. The intense backdrop and the child's silhouette create a haunting, powerful visual emphasizing the quote's message about the dangers of complacency toward evil.

They voted to kill millions of Americans then chanted “USA!” I’d say remember this come next Election Day but Miami just canceled their mayoral election and gave the mayor an extra year of power without its citizens voting on it. Seems like a precedent for something don’tcha think? I don’t like this

Not to be a controlling but firework holidays kinda suck. It would be more neighborly to just keep it to a certain time frame instead of three days before and then five days after the holiday. Vets w/ PTSD, babies, pets, people who get over stimulated or just want to sleep? Consideration is cool.

We let children get thrown in cages, and blown up, and starved, and gunned down and raped and beaten and figured out how to keep going on with our day even with that knowledge. It doesn’t matter if heaven is real, I cant Imagine how any of us are going there.

Writing is an act of rebellion.
Writing is an act of creation.
Writing is an act of salvation.
Writing is an act of exploration.
Writing is an act of emotion.
Writing is an act of confession.
Writing is an act of speculation.
Writing is an act of reflection.
Keep writing.

Word of the day is ‘sequaciousness’ (16th century): the slavish and reckless following of another person in matters of thought or opinion.

If you voted for trump and you depend on the affordable care act for healthcare but didn’t know Obamacare and the ACA are the same thing, then you deserve an ass wh00pin. Not pity. That’s stupid and you should be embarrassed.
