Oh I have had a banana and nectarine. But yeah, the rest of it is shite.
Tasty shite. But shite.
All I have done today is eat absolute shite.
I’d like to go to bed but the law states I can’t move the cat and I don’t make the rules guys.
Innit
I am too old for this shit. But I am also too in debt for this shit.
Also thinking about it, that’s probably about the time we’ll hear more about changes happening at work which I think will result in me being put at risk. One way or another.
I do have a holiday with a friend coming up in May, but honestly the overwhelm at the moment is a lot which means it’s hard to get excited about that.
I don’t actually know that tune. Thankfully.
I am basically a sack of rage and fury and anxiety at the minute and I really could do with finding a way of managing that.
@futuremice.bsky.social who dis guy?
There’s now a bit of colour up at the allotment as the daffs and hellebore have opened
I was only going up to collect a bag of green waste to take to the tip but managed to clear another bed & get the ropey looking garlic planted, and the first lot of shallots. (Am hoping to get a few more to plant up and fill that space).
The rest of the bed will be onions I’ve started at home.
The poor penstemon will either die or thrive. 🙈
It was getting too big for its boots tho so needed a hack right back. I’m being ruthless this year.
Front garden tidy up time today. Now quite finished, but the beds are looking loads better.
Planted up some self seeded fox gloves and moved the crocus bulbs too.
Onion sets planted & the first of the seeds are off!
We have 2 lots of tomatoes, mini cucumber, 2 lots of courgettes, butternut squash, kale, cauliflower, broccoli, sprouts and purple sprouting broccoli.
That’s the flower bed done.
Well for now.
It’s going to need consistent weeding.
Today I’ve added some self seeded (at home) Fox Gloves, some Geum and Eryngium.
They will hopefully live alongside Lupins, Snow drops, little Daffodils, massive Alliums, Hellebore, Peony and a Sarcococca.
Yes. I’m 46 now.
Hit me up with any recommendations for a flask / insulated bottle I can put boiling water in to to make brews at the allotment that don’t taste of metal or plastic.
I planted a Sarcococca, some pretty purple Hellebore, some clusters of snowdrops and a few little tete-a-tete daffs.
The Lupin I grew from seed Matt planted last year are coming up, as is grandmas Peony and the Alliums are doing ok.
I did however spend abound 2 hours bent over the flowerbed. And I got it reasonably tidy (the far corner needs work but I ran out of time and space for the weeds to go).
It’s so fucking wet too. We’re the bottom of a gently sloping hill, next to the canal.
That poor rhubarb crown.
Honestly tho
It is an absolute shit tip. Same as front and back garden. I’ve got this week off work to try make some headway with it all and get some seeds started. And another week off in 5 weeks time to continue.
I went the gym this morning and it killed me. Then I went the allotment and that’s finished me off.
Oh happy birthday to you both ;)
xx
Fucksakes Ken, I’m so sorry you’re having to deal with this. But I’m glad that it sounds like you’re surrounded by the right people.
I find it easier when I’m doing it all myself than when Matt’s here. I think I was more successful yesterday because he was in the office and not home until 8pm.
Only me creating mess too so less to fucking tidy.
Jesus Christ I’ve been working for 30 years and have another 20 to go.
I think deep down they also hate the white guys.
