Again I LOVE #Persona3Reload

It's a great remake of a cult classic, but what I'd really love would be a remaster of #P3:F or something so folks can access to all that wonderful original direction. Because #Reload feels like an update, but the original? That felt like a CHOICE. From start to finish.

Or the scene where Orpheus is torn apart from within by a strange unknown persona. It feels brutal & #Evangelion -esc in the original, but almost comical in #P3:R because of the bad distortion effects on the models and unconvincing/floaty animation that makes each movement feel just SO weightless.

The use of shadows by the 'mysterious boy' to exit the scene but also by the camera to transition shots when you are made to sign the contract, is just completely neutered in #reload into a 'poof he's gone!' effect that feels far more generic and soulless by comparison.

The anime scenes have such a life & character that the new in-engine ones fail to capture. The tension & confusion of the cuts between the main character traveling and Yukari with the gun to her head, the lack of explanatory dialogue and her VERY different staging make the OG feel emotionally raw.

I adore #persona3 Reload so much, but my one great sadness with it is that a LOT of the style and deliberate pacing & direction of the original is lost.

Yes, it's VERY of its time, but replaying OG #Persona3/ #Persona3:Fes is such a treat. The entire opening feels weaker in #reload by comparison.
