Mid 80s when I was 7 my family moved from a quiet side street where I could play in the street and go and knock on friends' doors, to a busier cut through road. Massive detrimental effect on me (still managed to walk to school without adults though).

I was on a panel this week at the Royal Society, talking about AI and the future of women in science, and Wendy Hall asked us about the consequences of a future without women working in AI. And my reply was that we don't need to imagine that future. It's here. It's the present.

A new account has appeared on Wikipedia that is doing nothing but trying to whitewash Josh Simon's article.

I do think though they should charge for parking in retail parks and make it 4x the price of town centres as a form of positive social engineering to end the misery of the big box B&M

So much cheaper than the train and more convenient? We'll need to replace all the A roads with motorways at this rate

Just part exchanging my car now and still agog at what some people are paying. You used to be able to get a basic run around for 2 weeks wages, now you'll need 2 months, and so many CHOOSE to get newer, bigger, flashier than they need then cryarse about a couple of quid to park.

Lark Lane Liverpool is a major leisure destination for people from Merseyside and tourists … these are just some of the bins this evening. Either more bins or a more efficient emptying schedule is essential!

Mad how it's illegal to drive without headlights but so many major inner city junctions and crossings are currently unlit. 18 months of a Labour government, maximum council tax hikes and everything just keeps deteriorating.

There's just so much evidence on social media that he didn't seem aware of!

Got the report open, the 2022 parade is referred to, but Queens Drive, which took up a major part of the route, isn't mentioned at all, despite lots of reports on the day of dangerously lax traffic management

From the BBC's less sycophantic coverage...

The author of this report didn't even know about the 2022 victory parade and based his report on the number of attendees being impossible to anticipate

Just spotted Tinhead showing people around Woodside. Would love it if he invested in the area like he did with the Daffodil ferry, unfortunately the place looks worse than ever and now has people sleeping beneath the canopy.

Congratulations to Wirral Council on increasing the Council Tax of the Borough's most vulnerable by 300% this evening.

@wirralgreenparty.bsky.social voted against it.

Big protest near the Houses of Parliament but I'm too tired to walk any closer to see which side they're on

Anyway I'm in London. Just paid Β£7.70 for a Guinness but I'm looking out over Hyde Park so no complaints from me.

Remember on Twitter whenever you went somewhere you had to say "London I am in you"?

Is this millionaire councillor lying about his address? Wolverhampton's Milkinderpal Jaspal claims he lives in an Air BnB above a garage

All this talk of voter fraud is helpfully skewing search results away from the many cases of Labour shenanigans.

One little gem still shining in Birkenhead, a great place (with incredible sandwiches). And he's right, we don't big up our tech industry enough. Do school kids know they could end up working for Sony without leaving home?

Can anyone find a record of Galloway's endorsement and the Greens' welcoming of it? Preferably in mainstream media cos I'm sure Starmer isn't blaming the odd tweet or YouTube rant for losing his massive majority...

if they really think domestic coercive control is a big problem in that area but only want to do something about it on polling day that's absolutely vile
