I’ve long said this, and with the rise of AI, it rings more true than everβ€”the jobs our kids will have in the future have yet to be invented. But if we teach them how to be creative problem solvers, we’ll set them up for success.

If you're using AI to write essays, eulogies, a text to your wife, I do think less of you as a person. Ceding your mental and creative abilities to a machine is an embarrassing thing and people should be ashamed to admit doing it in public.

You know that nice thing somebody did for you that you're randomly thinking about?

It would be rad if you randomly messaged them to tell them it's stuck with you.

Ah!, this tutorial about how to set up an RSS is supa useful and a real public service. Worth doing the work up front to simplify one’s life.

there are over 8 million people in this city and the fact that bananas shit doesn’t happen more often is a testament not to cops or politicians but to the fact that people aren’t as violent or scary as some would like us to think

Risked appearing pervy to snap this over-the-shoulder shot of Frog and Toad in the wild, being read by a little girl on the G train. Because few things bring as much uncomplicated joy as knowing Lobel’s books are still doing their work, delighting kids and minting readers.

Charlie Kirk is such a stupid Nazi fuck that he literally thinks β€œNew York City would be so cool without the gays, and immigrants and Blacks and Jews.”

Motherfucker, we are WHY New York City is cool you stupid little bitch! People like you not living there is what makes it cool!

This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians to office.
2) Elected officials rewrite the rules in the donors' favor.
3) Donors make a huge profit.
4) Repeat.

For the sake of democracy, we must get Big Money out of politics.

Criminally absurd. It’s why I’ve sworn off AMC, Regal et al in favor of Alamo and a local theater called Nitehawk. No commercials, no Noovie, no Maria Modunos or whatever her name is.

Moviegoing is supposed to feel special, unusual, fun; when will exhibitors realize they’re driving audiences away?

100% this.

In a past life accompanied new authors on tour and, despite valiant efforts from publicity, went from audience of clerks to who’s-that-person-at-the-table-and-can-she-help-me-find-this-book &c. Huge expense to try and hit the Times list and moved only a few 1000 copies. A bad business.

She ran on all of this and I'm tired of being gaslit on this.

Plus, Trump ran on *none of that*, said he'd *increase prices* and people chose to elect him instead.

The destruction of public infrastructure like transit and radio feels like it’s targeting something beyond immediate suffering of users and workers, a message that none of us should expect to live in a place that functions or sustains us, none of us should even imagine it

Not only must your name come off but all the rights to the β€œfilm” should be given over to you. Unauthorized adaptationsβ€”especially those pretending cooperation with the authorβ€”devalue the property and get in the way of your exploiting those rights.

Sue the fuckers for all of it. And bury it.

Can second rec for The Good Wife, which I've watched through twice in its entirety. Witty writing, interesting cases, terrific long-term arcs. And the Good Fight spinoff is excellent, too, though it goes a bit absurd at times.

I do not understand the appeal of watching a podcast, honestly. Also? Any podcast the is longer than 45 minutes is just showing an utter contempt for your audience's time. If you're going to make a point, just make it already. Your blathering on is not as interesting as you think it is.
