This is the problem with lawyers and science. Science addresses questions with an open mind. Lawyers have a position to advocate for, then do anything they can to support it. Very different. I watched some of the OJ Simpson trial to see how science fared in court. Wasn't very good.

Where did you write to? I've been wondering about addresses - I'd be glad to write some, too. Different kind of story, of course, but as a kid I used to watch Star Trek on NBC back in the 60s. Big letter writing campaign got them a 3d season after they were cancelled.

Each tower got its own roll. I took the #1/2/3 to work down the west side. To get to S Tower elevators, had to walk across bank of escalators from PATH disgorging mobs of NJ commuters. Amazing how nobody ever bumped into each other. I love the magic of Grand Central Station for that same reason.

The state of NY, back then, had mandatory recycling. The contrast between public and private floors was notable. Fun fact: The two towers had two dedicated zip codes. Also, when very windy, doors would sway on their own & there were weird howling noises as building absorbed the stress.

I wish I'd kept it. It was an object, like a double rolodex. I had a custom Lucite base made down on Canal street as well as engraved plaque. I still have the negatives.

Used to work 96th fl, S tower, in the 80s. Chewed gum to keep ears from popping on the express elevator. I did a project, photographing every floor, both towers, at freight elevators. I spent a lot of time in those stairwells. I was thinking how long it takes to get from top to bottom on foot

I would never go to a lawyer for medical advice. (Especially not this one.) Too bad RFK hasn't gone after environmental issues like microplastics or pesticides for which pollution he actually has some job experience.

Where I live, USPS doesn't deliver to street address. Most algorithms don't let you pick shipper when ordering. Roulette. So about 1/3 of online orders are returned "undeliverable" - so wasteful. With AI, you won't have a human available for help. It will only get worse for some of us. All of us?

In the 80s & 90s, virtually all NYC apartments were rent stabilized. IIRC, anything with more than 4/5 units or so. There must still be a few rent controlled units left even now. Has Cuomo EVER rented? This is so out of touch!! (Unless things have changed a lot since my years in the city.)

Hard to be optimistic with the near-universal "we'll get to it later" attitude about climate. Other problems are more important, always, dontcha know?
