This week may a bit shaky due to my work schedule, but I’ll have two days off in a row for once so I hope to put a big dent in projects and get a decent stream in.

May be up for a promotion too but I’m not getting too worked up until it’s settled!

Yeah, it was a ride that lasted longer than it probably should have… Considering the work that has to be involved in designing each ones and over time they have put more effort into retools instead of like, “he’s red now so it’s a new guy”

I kinda fell out of it specifically when I saw Combiner Wars Jazz for 18 bucks and the “white plastic is cheap” brain worm kicked in. Kind of shifted more toward gunpla and more collector type figures. Can’t resist Blokees or new Starscreams though…

On the other hand, the ending feels more conclusive than a lot of TF universes since it pretty much ends on the energy crisis being over for Cybertron unless the sequel is Megs comes back and ruins everything. Which yeah, probably.

Characterizations were really fun anyway. It’s a “fun” movie.

I saw One way too late and enjoyed it but it kind of feels weird in the big picture of being another “G1 before they came to Earth” story with some tweaks to the mythos that don’t make it very compatible with other stuff, so hopefully it gets a follow up?

Like, fuck paying over 20 bucks for Deluxes in general but I found ONE Prime on closeout so yolo

Especially lately when it feels like we’re heading for another Satanic Panic/Mortal Kombat Blood Code level of bullshit from killjoys, just do what you want as long as you aren’t hurting anyone. Be a freak or a geek or whatever. Just have fun.

I look at my art friends who have been at it for different amounts of time, drawing their favorite OCs, and even if it’s not tailored to my tastes, I kind of envy how many of them can just proudly post a cow girl with zeppelin tits or something and be like “here’s Dairylinne dressed as my WoL” ^_^

“Nobody else would think this is interesting” “This isn’t a popular theme” “Would this sell?” etc combined with my main source of in person life advice reminding me constantly to “keep your feet on the ground” or “you need to do less of that” in so many words is a lot of sludge to fight through

Course, right now I’m sprawled out in bed nursing a massive sinus headache so I’m not in the best mood to work on stuff. I’m just kind of thinking about how over the course of my whole life it’s been hard to get back that feeling to get lost in making something.

I could probably rattle off a list of outside factors or people I think threw me off track, but given I was literally drawing Eishi and Dixie comics on the clock at a supermarket and have plenty of time to brainstorm stuff through the day, it’s really down to a lack of conviction I don’t follow thru

These days, even if something Sucks, if it’s clear the person made it out of passion, I can feel the charm dripping off it, and I think that’s true of a lot of you guys too. Like, there’s a *reason* even haters have favorite targets. Something is making them check back in just to see what’s new.

I think the happiest I ever was creating was when I was in art classes and had some geek friends writing little comic strips, trading and reading each other’s stuff and being like “wow, I wonder what’ll happen next” and as easy as it is to post online, it’s a waaay bigger ocean.
