FIRST WILD JAGUAR CUB DISCOVERED IN THE ARGENTINE CHACO🐆🧵

Local wildlife guides Pablo Luna and Darío Soraire were boating on the Bermejo river when they saw Nalá, the second female jaguar released in El Impenetrable National Park by Rewilding Argentina, and her 5-month-old cub!

Through initiatives like huemul monitoring in Patagonia Park in Argentina and Patagonia National Park in Chile, creating the Chilean National Huemul Corridor, and discovering new subpopulations of huemul, our teammates on the ground are working hard to protect this vital species.

But, there is hope. With our offspring orgs Rewilding Chile and Rewilding Argentina, we continue to work to protect this keystone species.

The first time we heard giant #otters, the magnificence made our hearts stop. We had traveled to northern #Argentina to knock on the door of the giants in the rewilding movement. We went to learn about jaguars; we fell in love with otters. This visual essay will transport you to #Iberá.

Amphibians’ sensitivity to changes in temperature, humidity, and water quality makes them true indicators of ecosystem health. Protecting them is essential to preserving the balance of the forests, rivers, and wetlands they inhabit.

Amphibians are the most threatened group of vertebrates on the planet and are especially vulnerable to climate change. According to the IUCN Red List, over 40% of amphibian species worldwide are classified to be at some level of risk of extinction.

In 2024, Rewilding Chile launched their Amphibian Monitoring Program in Pumalin. Since then, their team of scientists have explored the lush rainforest and found an incredible variety of amphibians. Check them out!
