If Little Richard heard us rock
The songs that Elvis gave
Would he dig high hat and kick,
Or roll around his grave?

I'm really enjoying working on an acoustic Americana set with Bob Powell, Bob Cooper, & Debbie Bee. Bluegrass, Old time, Hank Williams, Dylan.. Mostly playing Mandola with a bit of mandolin and guitar + singing BVs and a few leads. Interesting and good discipline working without bass and drums.

Beautiful architecture and bland shops at Bristol's Cabot circus.

I went to this last year and it was an excellent session. Bob is a clear and organised instructor.

Richard Bertinet knows his baking chops. He also knows how to share them in this well-organised book. #baking #slap-and-fold #cookbook

I've fallen in love with the octave mandola. (It's like a mandolin but bigger and, no surprise, an octave deeper.) It really cuts through a mix and is super versatile: melodic breaks, tunes, arpeggios, chop chords ... It can sound just right for Americana but also can get a bit mediaeval.
