Sunlight illuminates some tall grass heads against the dark pool of the irrigation ditch, no longer flowing, near my house. Leafless trees and osiers line the far bank.

The strawberry plants, with their triplets of fringed leaves, display fall colors—some still dark green, some lighter green, some yellow, some coral orange.

That Andor arc is the best Star Wars since the original trilogy. So great.

An irrigation ditch reflects gray skies, running from center to the distant right. A couple of tall trees in the near distance shed yellow leaves. A few bare trees in the background. A shrub still holds its green leaves, and the grasses too are still green.

I find a similar joy in writing rec letters for my seniors. Makes me focus intentionally on what I like and appreciate about each of them.

Aurora seen tonight from my back porch, edge of town in Montana. Growing up here, such things were never witnessed. What is different these days to make it so visible so far south?

A Martha Washington geranium is turning several fall colors - greens, reds, and browns. The pointed leaves make for interesting interplay.

Some yellow leaves from a shrub serve as backdrop to blackened seed clusters that developed from the white flowers of summer.

Pink gaura blossoms have endured nearly to November. Red stalks give way to delicate pink flowers. Green grass littered with leaves are the backdrop.

From the back yard, the Beartooth mountains are visible under gray overcast. Red leaves from vines, yellow and green osiers and small trees color the foreground.
