I edited a book "Danish Marxism: Past, Present, Future" that was released at the tenth annual conference of @dkmarxsoc.bsky.social a few weeks ago. It celebrates 10 years of critical research presented at the conferences and can be downloaded for free here marxistiskestudier.com/wp-content/u...
I’m still working on the funding though… there are some loose ends
My vision was a kind of hyggezellige Marxist takeover by bike! Was gonna bring it up at the meeting next week but here we are

it is abstract selection season and it has been TOUGH this year😭💔
We got a lot of ✨a m a z i n g✨ abstracts and had to make some really tough decisions - since we could only select about half!!
So in the interest of transparency here are some insights into our process:
Danish marxist @mariethogersen.bsky.social will be defending her PhD thesis, "Ruling the Cloud: A Critique of International Cyber Law" at University of Copenhagen 😍
Please join us on June 2nd if you want to see something as rare as a Danish Marxist PhD in international law💅

This is one of the best times I've ever had at an academic conference - highly recommend submitting something to the Danish Society for Marxist Studies conference this fall.
If you are one of those unfortunate people who can't join our conference in october then we are very sorry for you 💔
BUT you can stop crying now! @lottelist.bsky.social has got some great news for you and your fomo 💕
This conference in Bologna really looks exciting and you should all be going!😍
❗🚨KEYNOTE ANNOUNCEMENT🚨❗
All the rumors are true!
Our first keynote speaker for this year's conference is none other than M.E.O’Brien😍
O'Brien writes and speaks on capitalism, gender freedom and family abolition!🔥
I made a short video-abstract introducing my recent article “Political Theology: Origins, Concepts, and Contradictions” out in @theoryculturesociety.org
ephemera is open to a range of formats: articles, notes, reviews, interviews and other media formats, so we'd be happy to receive proposals for submissions that shed light on wasteland in different and/or unconventional ways
Call for papers out now for an SI on "Organizing wasteland" in ephemera! In the SI, we seek to explore wasteland as a socio-spatial process creating relations of discarding, (de)valorizing and (dis)organizing spaces, people and objects. ephemerajournal.org/node/5104
Get in loser, we're abolishing hygge 😎
“As the extreme right is attacking liberal institutions from within, critical scholarship has the urgent task to provide an alternative perspective on what it means to abolish in order to reconfigure” - if not now, then when? Join us in Aarhus in October!
Save the date! Join us in picturesque Aarhus this October for our 10th anniversary
Do feel free to reach out @anastasiyakotova.bsky.social !
"Contrainte muette: Le pouvoir économique du capital", the French translation of my book "Mute Compulsion", will be out on May 30, translated by @prada-meinhof.bsky.social, designed by Léa Gallon, published by Édition Sans Soleil. I hope to be in Paris for the book launch.
Any and all relevant readings very welcome!
Comparing these local practices between countries that are among the largest waste exporters and importers respectively, the project will situate urban waste politics within the globally uneven political economy of waste
Through fieldwork in Glasgow and Mexico, the project will study waste in urban everyday life through the diverse practices of (in)formal actors who produce, mediate, mitigate and avoid waste
Ending the year with good news: this week I received funding for a postdoc project on urban waste, which aims to see waste like a city and will dive into the world of urban politics, ecology and waste colonialism. For the hygge description of the project, see www.carlsbergfondet.dk/det-har-vi-s...
Jaa så sejt! Tillykke!

Moving myself out of the lurkers' backseat here: I'm a critical urban scholar, studying capitalism and post-capitalism in the city and currently interested in waste, urban metabolism and diverse economies. Based in Copenhagen at the moment and proud almost-Danish member of Danish Marxism
