I was once looking after a nighbour's chicken when she was away. Got down there too late after work and one was already roosted in a tree instead of henhouse. Had to fish her down with a long pole so she would not get eaten overnight!

Here it was pouring and blowing until 5:30 so no candle-lit paper bag pumpkins and battery lights to light my dark rural path so I have been running out with a lantern and treat bowl when cars pull up. Meet them in the driveway. Hope all the chickens are home and ok!

Oooh, guess that is one advantage of being 4 hours earlier here! It will be quite ligit to do so! I have had more than double my usual number of kids (8 so far) so am running low anyway.

Cleared off here near Antigonish by 5:30. Wind dropped sun showed glowing gold behind thinning cloud. Rainbows to NE! Drizzle to SE. Very weird but great timing!
