Different countries have developed their own, different systems over centuries. Getting rid of juries won't mean we end up with a similar system to others, all we'd get is a crippled version of our system.

It's obvious to me that even the slightest scrutiny this institution receives will be met with whatabouttery and entirely unevidenced accusations re: the critics' motives from you.

I don't know what your agenda is, but it's pretty sad to see people bending at the knee this much.

The CofE is a branch of our state, with all the bells and whistles, privileges and responsibilities that come with that. If it wishes to become merely a private members' club with less scrutiny upon it, it's welcome to disestablish itself at any time.

Then at the very least let's sever its status as an arm of our state, remove the bishops from the Lords, as well as any public funding or charitable perks it receives. If it wants to be treated merely as a private members' club, make it so.
