This is exactly it. A large language model is not by itself a good solution to many problems. However, it can *generate* a good solution to a vast space of problems, thus solving them indirectly.
For example, don't ask an LLM to count letters in a word. Ask it to write a script that counts them.
Too few of you realize takes about AI water usage are vice signaling. They advertise that the speaker is an unprincipled person who is willing to say anything to further their hatred of AI. That it's stupid and fake is the point.
i like to think of LLM prose as discount junk that you dismantle for parts rather than any kind of substitute for The Real Thing
