Juridisk Tidskrift

The image shows a quote by the author Simone Benvenuti: "While clashes between judges and politicians are nothing new in Italy, this latest reform proposal raises concerns that go beyond routine legal disputes."

Last week, 80% of Italy's judiciary went on strike against the government's proposal to reform the judicial administration.

Though not a radical overhaul, the underlying aim of the reform is to weaken judicial self-governance, analyses SIMONE BENVENUTI.

The Finnish Supreme Administrative Court just gave its second climate ruling. The Court 1) made a groundbreaking decision that the case was admissible, also referencing Klimaseniorinnen 🥳2) dismissed the case on substantive grounds, finding no violation of the Finnish Climate Act🤔

Quote from our published article by author Milka Sormunen: „The politicization of the Constitutional Law Committee may have peaked with the pushback law because asylum-seekers are considered marginal in society. In this context, the question of whose rights are affected becomes more important than which rights and based on which criteria these rights can – or cannot – be limited.“

Finland’s pushback law was greenlit by the Constitutional Law Committee despite violating the Constitution, human rights obligations and EU law.

MILKA SORMUNEN on the troubling politicization of Finland’s ex ante constitutional review process.

The Brillliant Nazila Ghanea, UNSR Freedom of Religion, is conducting country visit to Sweden. Quran burnings one thing agenda. Very timely. Not because Swedish legislation is flawed. But because knowledge of IHRL on freedom of religion is lacking. Go Naz!
