I’m at that stage in the flu or whatever I have where I wake up and feel fine, temperature is only a little high, and I get optimistic.

That lasts about a half hour, I’ve found.

I believe it was a trial run to see if there was interest. Kermit even says something to the effect in the show.

Saw a few halftime reaction videos pop up on Instagram, watched em, got more.

For the last couple of hours now my feed has been almost entirely reaction videos from Latin countries. Laughing, shrieking, dancing, openly gasping or crying when their country was named.

I may be a little misty.

Respectfully, I think he’d disagree. A big theme of Bad Bunny’s halftime show was about the different hustles PR people do to get by, and he made a point of handing his Grammy to a young boy to show the dream is alive.

And I’ve read several Gaga articles where she talks about her early years.

Reaction to the game itself ranged from “ehh” to “the Pats were humiliated so I’m happy.”

Since I have never in my life watched any part of a Super Bowl with any interest in or knowledge of the teams playing, I wasn’t concerned.

So far the main takeaways I’ve gotten from my feed’s reaction to the Super Bowl has been:

1. Bad Bunny gave a perfect show

2. The AI ads were increasingly desperate

3. In fact, I’ve seen very few people in my feed praising ANY ads this year

4. There were at least 3 @dropout.tv regulars in ads

Just found out there’s a Kickstarter for an original elderly Sherlock Holmes audiobook with Holmes voiced by Tom Baker and I may have sprained my finger pledging it.

That John Leeson, the voice of “K-9,” is voicing Holmes was just a happy bonus.

There was some impact, certainly. Avatar toys came out, I’m sure there were shirts and Halloween costumes and such.

I’ve seen people cosplaying as Avatar characters at cons, but never very many.

Same goes for the successful Fast and Furious series, but I frequently hear quotes from that.

It’s amazing to me that Avatar had so many huge hits while having so little apparent impact on pop culture.

I rarely see shirts or tons of merch the way I do Marvel, Pirates of the Caribbean or Game of Thrones. I never hear anyone quote the movies.

If you didn’t see the movies, do they exist?

Welp, just broke the cold weather record for my central Florida area for today (it was 26 degrees) and it’s supposed to get still colder this morning.

I am currently praying to Anubis for the continued strength and durability of my dog’s bladder.

It’s expected to get into the 20s tomorrow morning and feel like the teens. I feel like this violates some sort of longstanding Florida agreement.

I hadn’t realized how much local awareness I’d lost no longer working in the Daytona office till I planned a Cracker Barrel-Costco run this morning and found out the Rolex 24 is going on.

Oops.

It’s been DECADES since I haven’t had to monitor race traffic to avoid hours-long waits.
