Crazy thought. What about a brightly lit, solid cross shape?

3 circular lenses, in 3 different sizes, in standard mode they form a triangle. In battle mode the separate and scan around each of the channels.

My vote is to hand painting some of the details. But I know that takes time and energy you may need elsewhere.

Rough sketch of a feminine looking mech, tubes run around the rib area into a backpack, with more tubes leading from the top of it and into the back of the head. The "eye" area is enshadowed, but its massive decor that flairs from its forehead graces a tracking eye on each branch.

It's still kinda overhyped, lol

So for Ahmad, I took inspiration from the Black Tri-Stars which are 3, 2, and 6. We had a 3 and a 2. There is no 6 in the animation. So I gave Ahmad #6.

Not all of the leaders show a number. Rashid, of course, is #1. There is an animation cel of Abdul showing #3, but in the anime it's cut off just enough you can barely see that it's a 3. Auda is shown in ep 11 close enough to a shield that could be his with a 2 in it.

No displays of Zakus, but I have a ton of them too. Though I haven't counted the Zakus.
On display for Leos I have 72 total, but I also have 4 customs and 4 Leo NPDs not on display. Then I have about 20 more in the backlog.

Thank you! I started in 2020, so it's definitely been a long term project. The fun part is there are over 50 distinct designs in the animation. So I might end up with more than 40, lol.
