I think it would depend. If the AI art was say, Hatsune Miku but give her purple hair, and then you decided to make that your oc, then I would consider that more plagiarism.

Though does that open up the discussion that it's technically still stolen? It's still an amalgamation created from thousands of other artists creativity and hard work. Just because AI can't claim it doesn't necessarily mean people who take those designs from them aren't doing the same. You know?
