My heart is broken at news of DOGE killing AmeriCorps NCCC — a program that changed my life. NCCC brings together young people from all across the country to truly make America a greater, safer, more beautiful and loving place.

Right now, in your community, people are losing jobs and access to social services because of Trump's cuts. Research for life saving medicine; the protection of our earth; funds for affordable housing, farms, roads -- gone.

No matter how close you live to DC -- whether you're in a rural white area, a big city, out west, or in the south -- these federal cuts are impacting you and your community!

There's not a state in this country untouched by the damage done to federal cuts by Trump. Take a look for yourself --

Working in NC, earning the federal minimum wage, meant working multiple jobs — and I was just caring for myself.

Ask yourself if you’d like to make less than $17/hour. If the answer is no, you should support this bill.

Climate shouldn’t be a dirty word. As an AmeriCorps Alum and former Sunrise organizer my heart breaks at this news. Jobs created by this program will be lost along with the progress of restoring our planet and saving lives. This kind of work had the potential to prevent fires like those in LA.

You cannot afford to live in any city in this country on just the minimum wage.
