The majority of Americans don’t want this. And in less than 500 days a majority of Americans will be able to speak up and loudly reject Republicans in Congress in the midterm elections.

The razor-thin majority that lets Republicans control the House was decided by a little more than 7,000 votes scattered across three districts in Iowa, Colorado, and Pennsylvania. That’s certainly no mandate — and when asked today a clear majority of Americans disapprove of them, too.

The 50 senators who voted against this bill represent tens of millions more Americans than the 50 who voted for it.
