fuck me for being this person, i guess, but public universities are a civic good and shouldn’t be run like businesses. and if you’re going to insist on running them like so, at least do some market research. students like their professors; they don’t want MOOCs taught by ChatGPT.

We went on a coach trip from Hull: stayed in a hotel in Riccione & used to hop on the bus into Rimini proper. Had day trips to Bologna & Ravenna. Fabulous. We adored the Byzantine mosaics.

Some of the local branch libraries have shrunk to a room in a health centre or school. Central Library isn't what it was, either: serious books sold off at discount; shorter shelves (ostensibly a safety issue) mean fewer books; music & films now in same space – again, means less space for books.
All of us – or none of us.
I cannot morally accept any solution that wd give some members of my family fewer rights than others; & I am not halves of a person.
Not possible for millions of us. The Nats told me I shd embrace them for that, but why wd I want it if it meant letting half my family be discriminated agst bcos of an arbitrary & anachronistic line on map?
