fuck me for being this person, i guess, but public universities are a civic good and shouldn’t be run like businesses. and if you’re going to insist on running them like so, at least do some market research. students like their professors; they don’t want MOOCs taught by ChatGPT.
Glad to see this decision out of the EU, and I hope to god it improves the lives of some of the people in the EU nations that have recently cracked down on transgender people.

We went on a coach trip from Hull: stayed in a hotel in Riccione & used to hop on the bus into Rimini proper. Had day trips to Bologna & Ravenna. Fabulous. We adored the Byzantine mosaics.
#Bats with brollies! I love this!
Dad & I visited on a day-trip from Rimini in 2016, on our last holiday to Italy. Lovely city. The 'mother-ship' of W European universities. I got the t-shirt.

He was 42 when he died. I'll be 61 this yr.
He looks v prematurely aged, but given his lifestyle, this isn't surprising.
Yes, it is.
Very Beardsley & Harry Clarke style!
Yes!
And I miss the coffee house… it had quirky touches like tricornes & wigs hanging up, & the cakes & buns were done to 18C recipes.

Thomas Gent's, I think.
I remember when there was a lovely 18C-themed coffee house there named after him.
I suspect it was more a case of friendship/professional relationship with the Wicked Witch of Hogwarts getting in the way of thinking clearly.
Portrait of Mirabeau by Joseph Boze. Boy, does his lifestyle show…!
Hard to believe I'm old enough to be his mother…!
Oh, shit. We just got three more. And they were born TODAY.
So cute!
We got a new baby delivery today. Seven new little guys in the beer garden.
Yes, he's part of the problem, having come from The Spectator. But they've also had Sonia Sodha since she left The Observer.
Thank goodness for @archive.org bcos otherwise the aspiring autodidact wd struggle.
Some of the local branch libraries have shrunk to a room in a health centre or school. Central Library isn't what it was, either: serious books sold off at discount; shorter shelves (ostensibly a safety issue) mean fewer books; music & films now in same space – again, means less space for books.
All of us – or none of us.
I cannot morally accept any solution that wd give some members of my family fewer rights than others; & I am not halves of a person.
Not possible for millions of us. The Nats told me I shd embrace them for that, but why wd I want it if it meant letting half my family be discriminated agst bcos of an arbitrary & anachronistic line on map?
