If you can't be enthusiastic about your company's product, it doesn't matter if you're neuro anything, you probably should recognize that that's not who you are and don't put out an ad by you saying your product is "meh" or just go be CEO somewhere else.

The American philosophy of work and attitudes towards wealth play a role here. I don't know how people in other countries act but there are Americans making $200,000 a year who think that they're not making it.
To be fair, most of the military isn't involved in this and a large portion of those that are are still doing what they routinely do. The biggest danger is the shift in routine, op tempo, rushing work, and inattention, all of which greatly increase the odds of accidents or mishaps.
