Digimon, after three decades finally gets a great game.

Not an "alright" game, not a "passable" game, not even a good game. A true, honest to goodness, great game.

It's actually better than most Pokemon games.

To an extent that's to be expected with a community with so much passion involved.

I don't want to imply that Sega doesn't care about Sonic because they clearly do, Sonic has a lot of official media and a lot of it isn't half bad.

But the sheer gulf between how Sega treats Sonic and how the fans treat Sonic is crazy. Sonic fan games are nuts.

They want violence. They fear mockery.

Older people are more conservative because poor people often don't survive to become seniors.

The sonic community can be so fucking funny sometimes because not long ago there was a good fan port of Sonic Unleashed to PC which prompted a lot of the community to proclaim about how Unleashed was some sort of underappreciated gem.

Then people played it and remembered that it is booty cheeks.

There are open attacks on ICE members and things are different. I was expecting (and afraid of) the usual kvetching about how we need to preserve law and order.

But that's not happening. What I am primarily seeing is people recognizing that ICE is a band of criminals.

I actually own a physical copy. But there's a good chance that most modern Aliens fans haven't played it and that makes me sad.

I think Aliens vs Predator 3 was okay but they made some goofy decisions. Like you can OBVIOUSLY tell they made the predator first. So you get a weird rock, paper, scissors combat system where marines can beat up xenomorphs in a fist fight.

And somehow AVP3 is less stilted than Rogue Incursion.

Alien Rogue Incursion is yet another example in the "This is not nearly as good as Aliens Versus Predator 2" lineage of Aliens games.

It sucks so bad that Aliens Versus Predator 2 is in intellectual property hell and can't get a re-release.

I miss all the discussion we used to have about examining the faults of our society and talking about different ways to improve it.

I want to drop Bad Apple into random points of the 20th century and see how people react.

Of course Petey didn't get any applause at his supposed hype moments. Then Trump goes up on stage and the lack of cheers is so deafening that it sucks all the life out of Trump. Trump really lives for the applause so he is immediately robbed of enthusiasm.

Pete Hegseth goes up on stage and insults them. A national guard major who got to be head of the DoD through his performance on TV and has a reputation for fucking up constantly is talking down to the generals and admirals.

Then Pete Hegseth spews some "alpha male" manosphere bullshit.

That meeting with the generals might actually be one of the most cringe and embarrassing things I've ever seen.

Military brass really just want to get their work done. Being pulled away from their duty, no doubt messing them up, they came into this meeting already pissed off.
