Listening to the Lyndal Roper episode on @draftingthepast.bsky.social I am cheered to learn she organised her research on the Peasants' War by drawing a grid on a really big bit of paper which she stuck to her wall. Also that she got to know some of the terrain she was writing about by cycling it.

This was a particularly good episode. The thoughtfulness, sincerity, and humility of @omarvaleriojimenez.bsky.social are inspiring. I also keep a log, and really liked his comment that it is good for ensuring you put in the required hours...but also for giving yourself some grace when life happens.
