He's been active in environmental-justice work for years.

Yesterday, over 20,000 nurses from 12 hospitals throughout this city voted to go on strike to demand support for better working conditions. Nurses are facing an understaffing crisis- they are left with far more patients than they are able take care of- creating a dangerous and unsafe work environment. The demands of nurses have long been ignored- calls for a newer, fairer contract have been delayed time after time. enough is enough. People who TIRELESSLY work everyday to provide dignified care to our community deserve that same dignity in the workplace. TheY deserve safer staffing, adequate healthcare services, and protections for vulnerable patients. As your assemblymember, I will always stand in solidarity with the service unions and union jobs that helped build District 33 and provided for the care of all queens folks. I am reminded of the thousands of Nurses in Southeast Queens who take pride in their job but who have lost hope in better. NYSNA’s bravery has reignited that hope. I take pride in standing in solidarity with NYSNA.

If you know St. Albans + Cambria Heights, you know: supporting Zohran in early June wasn't easy to do. But that's Oster.
