it’s peach season, so I would like to present this peach and burrata salad

yeah, I got the Daylight and it just... sits there. it was *almost* good, but there were so many polish misses (no way to attach or store the pen was the big one) and the OS made me so sad

I try to think about it more as trusting that I will find a way forward, and if I spend too long fighting for something that isn’t working, I’m giving myself less time and energy to move toward the next thing that could work

explaining these mindset shifts is so hard because it always boils down to a cliche that people only understand after they’ve learned the lesson

“if you love something let it go” “a closed fist holds no water” etc.

wiser people told me, I shrugged them off, I screwed up, then “oh I get it now”

another example:

at work, I would approach every opportunity like it would make or break me, and it almost broke me. when I accepted that not every opportunity was right for me and it’s okay to walk away sometimes, I ended up with MORE opportunities that were things I wanted

maybe an example is needed because that was vague as hell 😅

in dating, I used to approach each potential partner with “how can I make you love me” energy. when I accepted that I couldn’t force that, I became more of a friend than a romantic pursuer, and suddenly my relationships were WAY better

it happens again and again and again and yet I’m always unwilling to believe that things are more likely to happen if you’re able to accept that it will be okay if they don’t
