I am working on Highpass (WIP name for the charting library), and I feel like using:

<foreignObject><span>…</span></foreignObject>

Is better than:

<text>…</text>

The former is easier to style than native SVG text. It just works with global typography styles.

Thoughts?

It’s not the prettiest line chart, but it is…

- Built with Angular components and directives
- Fully accessible
- Rendered to SVG
- Has zero dependencies
- Leverages incremental hydration to defer loading interactivity (i.e. tooltips)
- Styled with CSS variables for easy customization

If the prototype feels compelling enough, than yes, it’ll be open sourced!
