Saw something written in a substack that seems like such an important relationship to identify but rarely talked about. “The Relationship Between Austrian Economics and Public Choice Economics” thecoordinationproblem.substack.com/p/the-relati...
Whether that fight is winnable or not in that environment is questionable, but… I feel bad about my tone in my second post. I’m generally not that cynical.
I’m conflicted. It’s nice to have a retreat from, you know (the completely barbaric and unapologetic sexism it seems mostly recently)… and the discourse is just so much more civilized here. But also… that’s where the fight’s at (IMO).
@aaronsojourner.org
How is a social media platform run by someone who made a Nazi salute at a presidential inauguration still better at putting important, relevant news in front of me in real time than this app?
It concerns me that this isn’t the only thing I see when I scroll this platform right now. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...
Unbelievable with this administration. www.whitehouse.gov/presidential...
Safe to assume you’ve seen this? www.axios.com/2026/02/16/a...
@loteck.bsky.social @gleemie.bsky.social ?
And that emerging technology will also be used domestically to suppress any opposition to different regimes. We’re entering a time of potential sci-if scenarios right now.
Someone on X, @froncon.bsky.social, mentioned that once WWIII officially breaks out (or gains momentum) that there’s going to be a race to develop military uses different uses for AI and that, unfortunately, made perfect sense.
What I’ve been told is that a ban would only last until Grok’s ability to alter images is changed.
Not that it probably affects anyone that may see this but expect another wave soon.
A new blog, with Karla Hoff and Allison Demeritt, developed from our talk at The Agency Summit: Expanding Opportunities to Act, Choose, and Thrive at NYU, @theagencyfund.bsky.social. It delves into topics from our forthcoming book, The Other Invisible Hand. theagencyfund.substack.com/p/the-other-...
And to be clear I’m upset right now... at the way people treat other people and the things that shouldn’t have to be said, but… that’s the reason not to ignore it if that’s where it’s happening IMO.
… and tbh I may not change anyone’s mind who I’m currently arguing with over there but that’s not going to stop me from trying.
But what’s going on over there right now is I guess what I have to admit may always be an ongoing debate about consent, and violence, and preferences, and when and where we collectively decide to draw the line where individual choice ends and collective action to prevent harm begins…
So… there have been a long list of reasons to leave Twitter that have emerged over time and I have, so far, resisted doing so. And the reason’s this: I’ve always wanted to be part of the fight - just as a matter of preference.
@gleemie.bsky.social Curious for any commentary you feel like adding.
I remember scrolling @lacieinbloom.bsky.social’s profile when @8withatiara.bsky.social mentioned her less than a year ago (over there) and thinking “My gosh, I’d almost forgotten what it looks like to be alive.” Real talk. I’d almost forgotten. I’ll take that influence as often as I can. No cap.
Tempted to share a “real talk” story, but…
Just trying to protect my crumbling reputation because I also usually take the bait.
To be clear I may make a motion to vote on this as an official team name at our next meeting so… be careful what you start @lacieinbloom.bsky.social (and I absolutely would like the record to reflect that she was, in fact, the instigator this time [usually is I think]).
(clears throat)… I’m not 100% sure this kind of talk is allowed on this app., so…
Okay I may have not started my day yet, stop judging me please.
(raises hand) I’m wearing a shirt… probably…
... thank you always for your perspective, hope you and your family enjoy the season, and travel safe whenever you guys get on the road. Happy holidays.
You too @froncon.bsky.social. For whatever reason, years of trying to make sense of certain thing I guess, Easter usually leaves me with more of an “out with the old and in with the new“ sentiment, but…
