The measles website at CDC continues to share updated data. 1514 cases reported in 2025. 3 deaths. CDC scientists working hard but have to manage vaccine attacks from @SecKennedy and his minions. This will be the year that ends US’s measles elimination status. Not one word at #UNGA.

I stand by my justification for my resignation. Sending strength to the scientists being held hostage at CDC.

FINAL THOUGHT: When scientific process is not followed, the science that make the foundation for
decisions is suspect and the decisions are therefore not valid. The ACIP is no longer a scientific committee. It is an ideology machine.

6) The COVID workgroup chair made good on his position as THE COVID overlord to present data of dubious quality that had not been through the normal ACIP process (like they noted for Hep B). Using the same logic as the Hep B vote, they should have tabled that vote too and maintained status quo.

5) COVID 19 resolutions were passed about informed consent and communication that are at best unclear and at worst not feasible from the scientific, legal, or regulatory perspective.

4) COVID vaccine was made “shared clinical decision making” (SCDM). Which means different barriers in different states. Some will require a prescription. Some won’t… ACIP had been moving away from SCDM because of the barriers. Doublespeak jargon about individual choice means nothing.

Now the questions is, will this go back to a workgroup and good scientific process? And if it does, will decisions reflect the findings of the data. Who will be on the workgroup, more ideology clones or balanced scientist? We shall see.

3) Hepatitis B birth dose tabled. Because of the complete chaos created by Secretary Kennedy insisting that this be on the September catch up meeting agenda and not go through a scientific process (that takes time), the regular process of data review and recommendation development wasn’t possible.

2) ACIP passed a resolution that pregnant women should be tested for hepatitis B. This is already in guidelines and adds nothing new. Glad tax payers paid for that one!

1) MMRV combo vaccine no longer recommended for children <4y. That means vaccine will not be covered by insurance, so not an option for patients. The 2 shot MMR and chickenpox vaccines are still available. This removes access. Let’s see which vaccine they will go for next!

Maybe that’s better given the intense bumbling we saw from ACIP members and the secretariat yesterday….

In June, an ACIP member said that 250 pediatric flu deaths were no big deal. Maybe today we will find out that a handful of hepatitis B related cancers, transplants, and deaths are also not a big deal to them either. Welcome to the new public health. We are aligned to a manifesto, not science.

That’s the problem. It doesn’t make sense. They should not be trusted to make policy recommendations. VFC providers have to adhere to ACIP recommendations. Who knows what it means if there is an ACIP recommendation that doesn’t comport to the VFC resolution?

Also… the CDC “director” should talk to his lawyers and experts to figure out how to mitigate this cluster.

No one knows what that means. Seems like the committee would benefit from a vaccine expert or two and someone who can run a meeting

So VFC providers may be violating their agreement if they administer the vaccine contrary to ACIP recommendations.

Private insurance doesn’t have to cover it, but AHIP committed to ignoring this ACIP (as they should) and they will anyway. VFC covers it, but that coverage is not based on an ACIP recommendation.

NO TRUST IN ACIP!

Well, the absolutely incomprehensible vote at the end of the ACIP meeting has left everyone confused. MMRV resolution passed, so it’s off the schedule for younger children and CMS won’t cover it.

They talk about “biothreat radar.” It doesn’t exist yet, although it’s a great idea. The funding has not been approved by Congress. It’s a line item in the 2026 President’s budget…

They talk about vaccine efficacy studies. CDC doesn’t do those. Efficacy is something you measure in a clinical trial… CDC does vaccine effectiveness not efficacy. There is a difference. Effectiveness measures how much protection a vaccine adds to what we all have out there in the wild.

CDC has released its manifesto… oops I meant mission statement. Seems to be written by people who don’t talk to experts. I wonder what shareholder engagement they did before posting this document? Seems to be written by people who do not know know what CDC actually does? cdc.gov/about/cdc/inde…

10) MAIN QUESTION: Do any of these questions matter since it’s very likely the decision on the recommendation has already been made in the office of the Secretary and most of the members have wanted to limit access to COVID vaccines for years.
