Maybe you stayed in your dorm room because at some point it began raining and became somewhat miserable on those hard, aluminum benches?

Thanks for clarifying. I read a false report and wondered why I hadn’t heard more about that.

On FB Marketplace in Chicago: the sign from the Thirsty Whale in River Grove. Coupla notes:
- before Whale, it was a restaurant where my aunt waited tables & Tony Accardo tipped her $100
- a band of HS acquaintances played there then got a C&D letter from a popular metal band for name appropriation

Is that true for regular email accounts too? I’m old, but really have found no reason to change. Their spam filter almost never lets anything in, and I figure no one will bother trying to hack AOL accounts ever.

Also want to tell mention your DJs were on fire this week. Beatnik did a set of 3 acoustic guitar greats, Alex G played a trio of Mangione adjacent songs, and Nicole played 3 dance bangers this morning with Jamie XX in the middle. So grateful for y’all!

I actually spoke with Sufjan maybe three weeks before this ran and have scarcely stopped thinking about everything he had to say. A remarkable guy. ❀️ @npr.org

Time is a tricky thing, ha. I believe he came back from college in the mid 90s. Let’s hope that he has a nice long run with the Reader in the future.

I’ve been lucky & grateful for Steve’s friendship for all these years. I’ve learned so much and have seen so many incredible concerts with him. His dedication to telling these stories in the Chicago Reader for 20 years has been such a gift.

Sufjan Stevens Is Doing Okay The self-declared β€œposter child of death in the music world” lost his partner and then got sick. But he’s trying to stay optimistic.

I talked to Sufjan Stevens on Good Friday about the Carrie & Lowell reissue and what he's been up to lately. He wants you to know he's okay. www.vulture.com/article/sufj...
