I don't think people think about what happens when stochastic terrorism drives away those who are holding irreplaceable institutions together with proverbial glue and duct tape.

The point of online activism should be teaching and effecting change in real life instead of throwing gasoline on the fire and/or watching it burn.

There's a notable parallel here with ACTUP/SF turning into AIDS deniers and attacking biomedical animal research with PETA. Time is a flat circle.

There's plenty of rhetorical misfire (ex. people saying vaccines are useless since they aren't sterilizing, advocating for only masking, the list goes on) from the totality of the left too, socialist or otherwise. No energy for learning or organizing, only for parasocial interactions and hugboxes.

There is no accurate, trusted, countervailing force to dispel any of the RFK/Makary/Prasad/etc misinformation. All that remains are heavily bludgeoned institutions and everyone attacking them endlessly with lies and misunderstandings that yield results like this.

Feeding into antivax conspiracies/RFK rhetoric from an activist role also contributes to the violent radicalization. Conspiracy and inaccuracies are invalid critiques and don't improve public health, yet *everyone*just leans into them.

Mostly silence on the shooting from COVID aware folks too.

If they're willing to give it without titers then great! Some docs get pedantic and want to see the titers first. I usually tell folks to get titers if they aren't sure about their childhood vax history.

MMR is live attenuated, so risk may change for immunocompromised and warrant a titer check too.
