It’s nauseating to watch powerful editors, journalists, and politicians suddenly acknowledging the reality of a two-year-long and still-ongoing genocide while entirely erasing the fact that they have played vital roles in allowing it to happen.

It’s good that US media and politicians are finally admitting the reality of US-backed, Israeli-perpetrated genocide in Gaza. To have any credibility or decency while doing so, they must also publicly acknowledge their key roles in enabling this genocide for the last two years.

Given that the US government is forgiving student debt for people who sign up to work for ICE while also capping federal loans for medical students and exacerbating a severe doctor shortage, maybe doctors should sign up en masse for ICE and then simply refuse to do anything.

Asking the U.S. government to forgive student debt is simply unrealistic, unless you’re signing up to be a fascist ICE stormtrooper, apparently.

This did not become a genocide yesterday. What the US and Israel have been perpetrating has been obvious since October 2023 to any honest observer.
