It's very hard to get an idea of what 100% looks like for the PMF, but they're definitely the dominant military power on the ground
Agreed on the Houthis at least
Genuinely bizarre to watch Shaheds and LUCASs fly in either direction
There have been attacks on Camp Victory and Erbil Airport like, literally every day for the last two weeks. Not very successful ones, but it's been incessant.
“Some senior aides and U.S. diplomats who manage Middle East affairs were told little to nothing about plans for the war. They learned the bombing had started from social media and news reports.”
My guess at this point is 9 months hot, and no less than 2 years warm
Yeah, but are people even picking up the phone at this point?
Still seeing conflicting takes on whether it was the C-RAM itself or the networked radar system that was taken out (inclined to believe Evergreen here), but a mission kill is a mission kill
Shia militias have a kinetic veto power over the Iraqi government and *really* aren't a fan of our new war
One Ohio class submarine can carry 240x 100kT warheads on 20 missiles for a total of 24MT TNT equivalent or ~9x the amount of bombs dropped allied forces in the European theater of WW2 given a total society mobilization. Nuclear weapons are incredibly cheap
C-RAM in US embassy compound in Baghdad has seen better days.
Radar is fine.
Kinda crazy how little this has penetrated into the US media
I mean, we're up to about a week of that
6 months to 5 years
It's dead
The C-RAM is dead
Anything on US media about this?
No longer a problem 🫠
what google search were you doing that returned a news article about pee from over a decade ago
Yep...
Wait until people realize just how mature FRTs are now
You believe nukes are magical spells because they're the only kind of bombs that might reach you, personally, in the imperial core. You have built up this defense mechanism to partition off bombings far away from where you live so you don't have to fully internalize what they do to their victims
Aside from the US, one thing I’m like 70-80% certain on is that Israel is gonna become a pariah state.
Like the US at the end of the day is too huge economically.
Israel? Different story, especially as its identity continues to diverge from diaspora Jews.
it’s fucked up that you can visit Hiroshima and understand the duality here in very direct terms:
these weapons are existential in the sense that they cause lots of death and destruction…
and also they won’t obliterate your city and you will probably have to deal with it the consequences!
Yep, $150/bbl Monday morning
I reposted to fix a typo, but the main thing here is that the dust in the air is going to be full of radionuclides. Aid is going to suge in if the state is somewhat functioning, but if you don't have to go outside, you should keep your building sealed until the hot stuff burns off
I think people elevate nuclear weapons like this because it's the only kind of bombing they can imagine their communities living under. It's got absolutely nothing to do with destructive potential and everything to do with "but this technology could reach *me*"
👀
I think they're probably communicating directly
