My friend’s cancer doctor smoked right in front of him.This was in the 80’s.

I don’t think I ever met an adult who didn’t smoke until I was in my 20s. Even the nuns at my Catholic school smoked - we could see them if we peeked into their break room.

An injury while racing overseas in Portugal in 1999 and at that time they still did, doctor was literally smoking while stitching me🤦🏻‍♂️

Yes, it was awful being in the hospital and having two other people smoke like a chimney. It made me sick. Finally got a private room.

Same here. I taught school and the workroom and teacher’s lounge looked like a bar. I hated it.

It was. I was in for a long time and finally got a room by myself
but had to pay more. It was worth it.

Doctors, nurses, orderlies, patients... It must have been like a casino floor in most hospitals.

The reason I quit smoking was because laws made it too inconvenient. I couldn’t take hanging out on the street like some hooker to take a smoke break at work. So glad for those laws now.

In the 80s & into the early 90s, I remember hospital & ER visits (I am a certified clumsy person, no joke), the waiting rooms were filled with cigarette smoke. In 1987, I remember seeing other passengers smoking on planes.
