Fantasy fiction is escapist. But, sorry to tell you, all fiction is. Fiction is never real life. The wonderful thing about fantasy is that it dives head first into that feeling of wonder and adventure. I think this is the fourth story I've written where there is some form of cannibalism. Is as it should be; human relationships under capitalism are a form of cannibalism. I just want to make Sayaka Murata proud.

I really like the way Ursula K. Le Guin did it. She kept it short and simple most of the time, but her names still read like they belonged in her settings.
