But I bet that was a fun project to work on

I'm honestly surprised that many states made the change. Fun stuff.

There are some questions I'd have about the ability to keep product in date for smaller self dist. and the effects one craft brand has on the entire craft segment in a small area

Out of curiosity, what state are you in?

Yuengling, Sierra, and Lagunitas have carved out their own tier of beer clout along with Stone and New Belgium (maybe Shiner). The rest are owned by Heineken USA or Corona. Craft is a more expensive alt to their base products, so they have little interest in pushing their own craft portfolio.

That's interesting. Were you able to follow the data past 2 years to make sure there wasn't just an initial flood of products after dereg before the market resettled?

And let's acknowledge the obvious... self distr. is cumbersome and difficult. It will fail if you suck at it lol.

I'd also add 2 factors. 1) craft never really captured that light and easy drinking segment. They tried with Mexican lagers and experimental sours, but now lose serious shelf placement to seltzers. 2) Over investment in facilities. Some solid places just grew too quick without the right foundations

The 3 tier distribution system is set in stone. A distributor's rights give full control for a product in an area. Some big stores (or small intrepid ones) have a purchaser to help that, but it's usually beer salesmen that rarely has craft exp. And has incentives to get more placement for big brands

This morning, during routine patrolling in Broadview, in the same area of Chicago that law enforcement were assaulted yesterday, our brave law enforcement officers were rammed by vehicles and boxed in by 10 cars.
Agents were unable to move their vehicles and exited the car. One of the drivers who rammed the law enforcement vehicle was armed with a semi-automatic weapon. Law enforcement was forced to deploy their weapons and fire defensive shots at an armed US citizen who drove herself to the hospital to get care for wounds.
The armed woman was named in a @CBP intelligence bulletin last week for doxing agents and posting online 'Hey to all my gang let's fuck those mother fuckers up, don't let them take anyone.'

Thankfully, no law enforcement officers were seriously injured in this attack.
Pritzker's Chicago Police Department is leaving the shooting scene and refuses to assist us in securing the area. There is a growing crowd and we are deploying special operations to control the scene.
This is an evolving situation and we will give more information as soon as it becomes available.

WHOA: DHS says that their officers were β€œrammed and blocked in” in Chicago and got out of their cars and shot an U.S. citizen who reportedly also had a gun and who had been tracking ICE raids. They are blaming the shooting on her, and say they were already tracking her socials. More details to come.

It’s perfectly acceptable to like the work of his firm and also 1) acknowledge that he makes money off many of the cases his reporters are covering and 2) understand that fundraising for non profit journalism shouldn’t work like that at all.

Only an administration intent on committing war crimes in the present and future would stoop to calling Wounded Knee a "battle" rather than what it truly was: a massacre of over 250 Lakotas, mainly women, children, and the elderly. 1/

Trump’s EPA Plans to Stop Collecting Greenhouse Gas Emissions Data From Most Polluters Climate experts expressed shock and dismay at the move. β€œIt would be a bit like unplugging the equipment that monitors the vital signs of a patient that is critically ill,” one said.

When @fastlerner.bsky.social reported in April that the EPA was going to stop collecting greenhouse gas emissions data from most polluters, it wouldn't admit it was eliminating the requirements. Today it announced the change, saying it's "cutting unnecessary red tape" & "unleashing American energy."
