What an absolute treasure Diane Keaton was. Her wit never tired, nor did her style.

It's more than a binary good/bad; it's a way of contextualizing the emotional, political, or other themes of a piece as well as laying out connections and comparisons through deep historical knowledge.

I got so much from rewatches of WotW and Munich, understanding better what Spielberg and the writers were going for rather than them meeting my ‘expectations’.

A lot of alliterations from anxious anchors placed in powerful posts!
April 7, 1950 column by Sidney Skolsky excerpt: Ida Lupino relates this incident as being mainly responsible for her turning from actress to director. Ida had played an important scene in a picture in which, at a very dramatic moment, she ordered several other performers to get out of the room. Later, one of the performers in that sequence said to Ida over the luncheon table: "You know when you shouted 'Get out! Get out!' and we got out? Well, we did it because the director told us to, and not because you were shouting at us to." "I discovered," says Ida Lupino, "that no one listens to an actress. So became a director in self-defense."
