The Council posted on their website that they've "requested" the owners of 62-64 N. Main St carry out work to stabilise the buildings as they're at risk of collapsing i to the street. They're not the only buildi gs in this condition in the city centre, they're not even the only ones on that street.

Anti-trans stuff in the UK has gone so far that Anne fucking Widdecombe is defending trans women.

...in her own, special way, obviously.

I've seen a few service announcements like this, but this is the first I've seen from such a large community instance.

At this point 50% of my FB feed is comprised of entirely made up shit like this. I'm a historian who studies politics and media, so it's easy for me to be a critical consumer of this schlock. But for the average consumer, this sort of social media is like putting a stick blender in one's brain.

You would, but the practice of letting historic buildings rot so there's an excuse to demolish and redevelop is ingrained and private property rights trump the public good.

There's plenty of money, the government simply refuse to upset land hoarders by forcing them to act.

Dereliction tax a 2.5x the business rate amount plus the certainty of compulsory purchase at half the site value after 18 months would concentrate minds. Other countries don't tolerate this.

This isn't near the city centre in Cork, it is the city centre. When will the government act to stop deliberate dereliction?

Investor may have some trouble with basic maths. Metro North can carry about 20,000 people per hour in both directions. The roads can carry about 500 cars per hour maybe more if there was perfect automation.... but unless he's planning 20X the road space physics say nope

Wikipedia being classed 'Category 1' requires it to reveal the identities of its volunteer moderators and contrubutors. Non-verified users could no longer edit posts. The only way to avoid this is to restrict access to UK users to ensure no more than 7 million have access in any calendar month.

I'll just note the list itself is a joke. There's a building unoccupied 15 years on our road, the roof has collapsed, and it's not on the register.
