I liked the last part where Tommy Lee Jones was like “boy howdy I’m knackered. Know somethin’ sweetie pie? This ain’t NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN.” Everyone in my theatre was so hyped in their Anton Chigurh cosplays and were just having so much fun having compression gun battles while the credits rolled.

Ever do that thing where you mute your audio in a zoom call to cough politely but you actually were muted to begin with so you just unmuted to cough your loud athsmatic cough? Me neither.

They don’t run it anymore, and today I’m feeling wistful and nostalgic for the Sinclair family’s haunted house.

One year in high school I got to participate as a creature in one of the rooms and gosh it was so fun and actually kinda scary cuz you don’t know how people will react. I got slapped hard for scaring a lady a little too good.

As a kid I had no idea how they did the transformation trick. It was pure terrifying magic.

They had a two way mirror trick that transformed a beautiful woman into a raging ape creature who would bend the bars of her cage and lunge out at you JUST as the lights go off. Perfect timing. Run by volunteers for charity!!!

Like this was a volunteer event held for decades, and every year they’d expand on the story of the SINCLAIRS. A fictional wealthy founding family of my home town who dabbled in the occult, FAFO-ed with mad science, and maintained a private zoo of exotic monstrosities.

It was a winding tunnel set up in the basement of the community hall, fully decorated and staffed by costumed volunteers, and IT HAD LORE.

There was a charity community run haunted house in my hometown growing up and it was the best.

Same. Time is divided into two parts: Before I saw this trailer and after. I still refer to it from time to time two decades out. The books are just as stunning. So oversized you practically fall into the panels.

Just like with Hades 1, Hades 2 has me going down a Greek mythology rabbit hole! I’ve dusted off my copy of Edith Hamilton’s book. And this Orphic hymn about Melinoë goes hard.
