Which work? Calling for gay people to be stoned to death? Blaming airplane crashes on black pilots? Anti-vax bullshit? Election denialism? Pushing Great Replacement Theory?

Kirk’s murder is awful and ominous for this country. But no, we don’t need to honor him or “continue his work.”

I grew up there and may end up there. It’s a great place. Amazing landscape and skies (and 4 seasons, thank you very much), many scars from colonization and the Cold War, an amazing array of intact and distinct cultures, economy totally based on oil and the military.

This is silly. NM has four seasons, including intense monsoon rains and a burgeoning ski industry.

It's absolutely undeniable the system is broken. On so many levels in so many ways. And none of it is sustainable. But the status quo forces have quite the grip! Mostly on what we can imagine is possible.

We need to get busy on imagining a different kind of world. Then get to work on it.

The War for the Imagination I and we are wildlife whose natural habitat is libraries, when it comes to physical space, because they contain books in which minds roam free through time and space, encounter Dogen and Dante and Sap...

The battle against authoritarianism is fought in the streets, but also in the mind.
