for highlights i increase the value and add warmer colors

ofc they might change based on the color of the light source. the things i said here are just for white/neutral light sources

for the colors, i like doing this to get a more vibrant output
i used to just add black for shades and add white for highlights but that sometimes makes the colors dull.
now what i try is,
for shades i decrease the value and add cooler colors, and then...

I’m not an expert but what I do is imagine the hair as like ribbons or groups instead of individual hair strands. I think it makes it easier to imagine where the hair comes from? Then from there, you can play with different lengths, movements and textures
