Yes, I also feel Crocodile is kind of at the core of any relationship Mihawk and Doflamingo might create and taking Croc out is just... weird. Something will be missing...! Ooooh, yes, Doffy definitely should hit on Dragon! And why not! He's a fascinating guy and Croc chose him for a reason!

Yeah...! I mean it doesn't have to be wholesome, I'm actually quite fond of unhinged things - but then again we're looking for a partner for Doflamingo so the aim is for happiness and I don't think having new toys, as you say, to play with and to break would hold his interest for too long.

Maybe shit talk isn't the right word choice X'D I'm rereading Marineford again (in German, so this might be wrong) but the only one he's actually rude to is Crocodile *lol* (and he also insults Whitebeard once, otherwise he's just having a great time on the battlefield *lol*)

Hah, Doffy. I feel it would be most fulfilling for him to be in a (messy) relationship with Crocodile X'D
But out of the options Mihawk might not be too bad. No nonsense going on between them on Marineford either (but maybe that's suspicious for Doffy. He's not shit talking him or Hancock iirc X3)

I feel Doffy and Shamrock gets my imagination going the most but that's just because they could mess each other up so nicely X'DD But yeah, that's not long term relationship matter unless a copious amount of AU characterization is applied *lol* (Which I always do I guess but still...)

So Mihawk must have some sort of tolerance for a personality clash but yeah, chemistry... I think that's the problem I have with all the ships that are being suggested to me. Not even necessarily the characters with each other, but it doesn't really ignite my imagination.

And interesting to hear what Doffy ships there are on AO3! (Ew, Trebol. Vergo can stay away too! Doffy's crew is just so unsettling to me for some reason *lol*) I don't know if the AUs would invite DoffySan or DoffyLaw. Maybe Mihawk, yes. I mean Mihawk is often shipped with either Shanks or Buggy-

Haha, yes! I mean maybe Rocks did think Garling was hot? He wasn't bad looking after all but his hair & personality... questionable. And yes! Doffy is not going to hook up with any of Crocodile's relatives - he doesn't want to die and why go for Kite if he could hit on Dragon *lol*

(Also, not depicted here: Someone is sending me Kuzan/Doffy propaganda *lol* Would that be a better match than Doffy/Shamrock? I'm not sure. Probably better than Kite or Rocks! X'D)

Sure, he could do interesting and horrible things to Shamrock, I'd love to see it, but would that ever tilt over into a fulfilling loving relationship? X'D Maybe in a sillier AU it could (and lots of my AUs are silly) But yeah, he gets pulled into the Monkey D family, whether he wants it or not!

I do feel bad for Doffy in my AUs!! But I have a hard time figuring out if he could even really love anyone - Croc is the most likely choice. But if Croc's with Dragon, who else could hold Doffy's attention?

Tere's the Tontatta who can make all sorts of things grow and they are connected to Dressrosa which is the Donquixote homeland but that probably doesn't really provide enough for some Doffy forest explorations...

The only thing I could think of is the contrast of the living forest and seemingly barren desert, of some sort of loss that Croc has to deal with but that's not really forest-pagan-shaman vibes either... And there really aren't a lot of "greenery" DFs...

I was thinking about the lack of forest characters too! I listened to Belladonna and yes, I get the forest-pagan-shaman vibes. We are we supposed to go with all the forest imagery if Crocodile's going to glare at us from his desert? Diversify, Crocodile! Enjoy some trees and grass and moss!

I was asked on tumblr to draw someone showing Doffy some love because in my AUs he "lost" Croc & people voted Shamrock should date Cora instead of him. When I thought "but who will love him?" P.J. Harvey's song "Who Will Love Me Now" flashed through my mind. Now I need to ponder what blorbo it fits.
