Clawed paws cradle stones,
crafting symphonies in splashes,
a silver-fish ballet wild & free,

Galactic Truths: A Journey Across Stars

In a sky spun with stardust, we trace our names,
Woven in constellations no one dares to claim.
Galaxies turn and there we are souls unbound,
Each one a comet, a light that astounds.
We are born in nebulas, fierce and bright,
A fusion of matter, shadows and light.
No binary can hold the cosmos we bear,
We are whispers of worlds, infinite, rare.
They speak of gravity, the force that confines,
Yet here in our orbit, we draw our own lines.
From Saturn’s rings to Jupiter's storm,
We shape ourselves, shifting, reborn.
I walked in the crater and through lunar dreams,
Seen reflections of myself in celestial streams.
Stars have died, galaxies cried,
But we rise, oh, how we rise.
Out there in the black, where time bends and breaks,
We stitch ourselves with love, whatever it takes.
We are echoes of quasars, fierce as we burn,
A testament to all who have yearned.
There are maps etched in my skin, in your gaze,
Planets that turn in their cyclical phase.
Reality bends, imagination flies,
And somewhere, beyond, our truth never dies.
For each soul lost, a nova explodes,
A burst of light on an endless road.
We mourn, we remember, in silence and song,
For they who have travelled and now are gone.
Yet, even in darkness, they shimmer, they gleam,
Alive in our stories, alive in our dreams.
We remember, we honour, we stand, we fight,
Under a universe painted with endless night.
We are not stars meant to burn out and fade,
We are the cosmos, beautifully made.
And in this vast expanse, where dreams collide,
We are infinite and we will not hide.
I wrote a poem for this year's Transgender Day of Remembrance which I am reading out at the service tomorrow evening 🏳️⚧️
