Yet the threat to nuclear safety has not passed.

This cannot be ignored.
Today Russia struck a residential area in Kryvyi Rih, killing at least 14 people, incl six children, injuring more than 50 others.
Russia seeks war, not peace & the attacks against civilians, incl children are brutal proof of it.
My condolences to the loved ones of the victims.

These two 24 Februaries have shaped our world.
With one, we stepped towards a more just rules-based world of coexisting sovereign states.
The other, we stepped back toward an age of empires.
If you prefer the former, history shows we must support Ukraine to defeat aggression.
Across our country today, Estonians will celebrate Independence Day with friends & family, watching the parade, and with good food and drink.
Also, as every day, many will continue to volunteer & donate in support of Ukraine, continuously inspired by their courage of resistance.
Russia chose 24 February, three years ago, to launch its full scale war to destroy the Ukrainian nation - and destroy our rules-based world.
It has failed.
Thatβs due to Ukraineβs will to fight, as well as their support from the international community.
Russia is an unreformed imperial power, proving repeatedly that it canβt be trusted.
In the absence of consequences, Moscow will disregard international law and prior agreements to continue pursuing its neocolonialist agenda.
Aggression, unpunished, emboldens more aggression.
Many around the world stood with us when we were occupied.
Moscow failed to gain much international recognition for its forced annexation of us.
With your support, we showed Moscowβs occupation can be defeated & international law can prevail.
And so we now #StandWithUkraine.
When Estonia regained its freedom, we didnβt need to declare independence again.
We have been continuously independent since 1918. And so we declared the Nazi-Soviet Pact to be null and void.
International law prevailed - and thatβs why we celebrate our Independence Day today.
As part of Moscowβs attempt to ensure you never heard about our independence, the occupiers even demolished the balcony - and entire theatre - from which we declared independence in PΓ€rnu.
The balcony has been rebuilt - and our entire country serves as a monument to freedom.
Despite Moscowβs staged annexation, Estonia remained independent by both Estonian & international law.
Mass repressions under occupation were brutal - but could never erase our memories of independence and our determination to live freely again.
Independent Estonians thrived like never before.
That was until, two decades later, totalitarian powers attempted to drag our world back to an age of empires.
Nazi Germany & Soviet Russia formed a pact to invade independent nations, including ours, sparking another world war.
In the Treaty of Tartu, Soviet Russia promised to respect Estoniaβs sovereignty & territorial integrity in perpetuity.
That was the first international treaty asserting that all peoples have the right to self-determination. It helped establish the principle in international law.
