I remember so many years ago getting a few Holbein oil pastel sticks for almost $3 a stick... I decided to check their price as of recent and it's almost $7 for openstock sticks now. Can't say I'm surprised with the cost of their watermixable oil set. I'm afraid to look though.

Maybe it depends on brands. I've tried Winsor & Newton over a decade ago & it wasn't easy to squeeze out the tube (maybe I had a defective set). The Cobra Study I've acquired recently seems alright. It just has less pigment (student grade). I ordered the Artist line recently. I'll see how that goes.

Printer paper
Something far worse than the results of other student oil pastels. Dollar Tree has good finds, but oil pastels ain't one of them.
Art is done on coldpressed watercolor paper, which is normally my go-to with student OPs... but this, not so much. Yet, I still had fun with these mediocre sticks.

I did fool around with Blick's Oil Pastels on and off Twitch.
