I've seen similar takes from artists who aren't getting the exposure they want nor making a living off their art.

This is a case of entitlement. Nobody is obligated to make your dreams of creating for a living come true. Do what you love, keep at it, and just hope you get lucky one day.

You should see the "I didn't spend 300 hours on this art for 17 likes and 2 bot comments" type of reels on Instagram. I also follow other artists trying so hard to appease algorithms and get bent out of shape when it lacks number of likes.

I see visual artists complain about nobody buying, no engagement, not making a living, & I'm like "you're not entitled to make a living. Nobody owes you engagement."

Write because you like it and just, as you said, hope for the best.
