Play Doom Eternal on a higher difficulty, it's basically just a platformer most of the other times.

And yeah, you can basically play any emulators on it too, and there is a program made for it to easily load up all your ROMs and ISOs into Steam so you can launch them in gaming mode.

You might be fine waiting for the Steam Deck 2 coming out and buying a secondhand one cheap.

Oh yeah, I think you'll be fine with a Steam Deck then. A lot of people brought up battery life, but you can quickly press a button on the front and change how much power the thing can use, and adjust based on the game, as sometimes full power isn't needed for a game to run smoothly.

These are serious probing questions, I'll give you a solid answer afterwards.
